Terms of Use
Starbase Events is a small, independently run site about launches and events around Starbase, South Padre Island, and Brownsville, Texas. These are the rules for using it. They are short, because the site is simple and we would rather you actually read them.
Last updated July 28, 2026
The Short Version
- We are not SpaceX and have no connection to them.
- Launch times and event listings are our best information, not a promise. Check before you drive.
- Do not scrape the site or hammer it with bots.
- Signing up for alerts means we can email you, and text you if you gave us a number.
- Reply STOP to end texts. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Store orders are covered by our shipping and returns policies.
Who We Are Not
Starbase Events is independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to SpaceX in any way, and nothing here is official information from them or from any government agency. Names and marks that belong to other companies belong to those companies, and we use them only to describe what we are writing about.
Launch Times and Event Listings
Launch schedules move constantly. Windows shift by hours, scrub with no notice, and change after we publish. Event listings come partly from us and partly from public calendars run by other people, and those can be wrong or out of date too.
So treat everything here as our best current information rather than a guarantee. Before you drive out, plan a trip around a launch, or book anything, confirm with the official source. Road closures in particular are set by Cameron County and the state, not by us, and they change late. We are not responsible for a wasted trip, a missed launch, a closed road, or a booking that did not work out.
Using the Site
Read it, share it, link to it, use it to plan your trip. What we ask you not to do: scrape it in bulk, republish our writing as your own, hammer the site or its forms with automated traffic, or try to break into anything. If you submit an event, submit a real one, and only include details you have the right to share.
The writing, layout, and original images here are ours. Event details themselves are facts, and facts belong to everyone.
Messaging: Email and Text
Signing up for launch alerts starts a messaging program run by Starbase Events. Here is the whole of it.
What you are agreeing to. This is the wording shown above the signup button:
Launch alerts and occasional updates. Unsubscribe anytime.
And this is the wording shown next to the phone field, which only applies if you choose to give us a number:
You agree to recurring automated launch alerts and offers from Starbase Events. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to end, HELP for help.
What we send. Starship launch alerts, which is the schedule, a heads-up the day before, and go or scrub the day of. Alongside those, occasional messages about the site, local events, and our store, some of which are promotional.
How often. Message frequency varies, because it follows the launch schedule. Busy stretches mean several messages in a week and quiet ones mean none for a while.
Cost. We do not charge for alerts. Your carrier's standard message and data rates may apply.
Stopping. Reply STOP to any text to end all texts, and you will get one confirmation back. Reply HELP for our contact details. Every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at any time and we will take you off by hand.
Never a condition. A phone number is optional. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of signing up, of buying anything from the store, or of using any part of this site.
Delivery is not guaranteed. Messages depend on your carrier and your phone. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages, and neither are we, so please do not treat an alert as your only source of truth about a launch. Not every carrier is supported.
Keep your number current. If you give up a number, tell us, so the next person to get it does not start receiving your alerts.
What we do with your details is covered in the Privacy Policy.
The Store
Store items are printed on demand by a partner and shipped directly to you. Prices and availability can change, and now and then something is listed wrong. If we cannot fulfill an order at the price shown, we will tell you and refund you rather than quietly ship something else.
How delivery works is in our shipping policy, and what happens when something goes wrong is in our returns and refunds policy. Both are part of these terms.
Ads and Outside Links
The site is free because Google shows ads on it. We do not choose the individual ads and we do not vouch for what they are selling. The same goes for links out to other sites, including official schedules, hotels, and tour operators: we link to them because they are useful, not because we stand behind them.
No Warranty, and the Limit of What We Owe
The site is provided as is. We do not promise it will be accurate, complete, or available at any given moment, and we make no warranties beyond what the law requires us to make.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, and our total liability to you for anything else is limited to what you actually paid us, which for almost everyone is nothing. Some places do not allow limits like this, in which case they simply do not apply to you.
Changes
We update these terms when something about the site changes, and we change the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use the site after that means the new version applies. If we change the messaging program in a way that goes beyond what you agreed to, we will ask you again rather than assume.
Where This Is Governed
The site is run from Texas, in the United States, and these terms are governed by Texas law, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Anything that cannot be sorted out by emailing us belongs in the state or federal courts of Cameron County, Texas.
